DUSK is a contemporary art festival in the Iberian Peninsula’s ancestral stone sites. The inaugural edition took place amidst the unique geological surroundings of Portugal with visual artists from (Portugal and Spain), Alba (Scotland), Ísland (Iceland) and Naija (Nigeria). Exhibiting as a band of merry solstice pranksters through the hinterland of the Alentejo and Algarve regions, in Portugal. From the night of the 18th of June to culminate in the Summer solstice on the 21st of June, 2023, this festival was curated programme by Nuno Sacramento and Inês Valle and advised by archaeologist Dr Manuel Calado, where contemporary art was articulated with archaeological, geological, astronomical and local community knowledge. 

Dusk brought artists of different generations and geopolitical contexts who participated, but all came from cultures with close links to stones and geology. Motivated by these, they presented performances, film screenings, debates, night walks and projects over two nights, in the middle of the Alentejo and Algarve countryside.
